To: Dad and everyone
My attitude has been a lot better this transfer. I know I told you this yesterday, but the other peeps who read my emails have not yet been updated. So plot twist: Instead of kicking the Northwood Elders out of the district they kicked the Oak Creek Sisters out. I used to be upset about it, but they kicked us out into a really amazing district so I'm not even mad anymore. There are seriously so many solid missionaries in the district we got moved into.
It's crazy because you can be having a serious issue with something one week and the next week it will be something totally different. I feel like at home I would struggle with some problem for months without it ever getting resolved, but the trials from transfer to transfer are totally different even though only six weeks have transpired.
I EXPERIENCED ONE OF MY MISSION DREAMS FINALLY THIS WEEK! I've always wanted to be able to do a spontaneous service project my whole mission, but nobody needs our help ever. So the other day it was raining and we didn't want to go tracting because we're big babies. We decided to visit less actives instead. I felt really prompted to go see this less active that lives in this iron fortress apartment complex that you have to have a billion keys and things to get into. So we decided to go try them out just in case and see what happened. On the way I decided to use my time wisely and read PMG. So I opened directly to "Go About Doing Good". As soon as I started reading we turned the corner to find a garage sale being rained on. We pulled over and asked if we could help. We ended up helping this lady put all her stuff away. She asked how we knew to come help her and when we explained the situation she said we were her angels. Then she said she was a born again Christian and she never wanted to have anything to do with us, but you know. At least she didn't bash. :]
Funny stuff:
"Sorry I'm staring at you." -me
"I'm.. ok with it." -Elder Everett
Before Elder Center got transferred I told him to tell Sister Shober that I had something to tell her but he forgot. So I saw Sister Shober and she ran up to me and was like "Elder Center forgot what he was supposed to tell me" Best day of my life.
"Elder Richards, how come I don't know anything about you?" -Me
"What do you want to know" -Elder Richards
"Everything, WAIT NO! Not that much that's awkward I didn't mean it!" -Me
*Dies of embarrassment* -Elder Richards
I make Elder Richards uncomfortable literally every time I talk to him. I don't even know why. It's just hilarious. It's because he's really shy and I'm really.... not....
"You could throw the water balloons at a basher." -Me
"You know... If we throw enough of these at you we can baptize you." -Elder Davis
Elder Center "accidentally" hit me with a water balloon. I had to change. It was awkward.
I wrote this in my journal. It's a true story:
>What did you do on your mission Sister Atchley?
>I just cried and acted melodramatic until Heavenly Father helped me.
"I need a picture of Sister Orgill, can you get me one?" -Me
"Good question, here's Elder Chan." -Elder Mills
Way to heave that dead cat into somebody else's backyard...
The reading assignment is this:
